Related Resource | Role in the ACCENT project: Organisation of activities, contribution of resources, Local Citizens’ Debates Run by Costa Edutainment S.p.A., the Aquarium of is an educational, scientific and cultural pole that aims to develop and consolidate awareness about sustainable relationships between man and sea. It reaches 1 200 000 visitors every year. The educational vocation of the Aquarium is confirmed by an analysis of the target groups of visitors, which is predominantly made up of young people and young adults (more than 70%). With regard to Culture and Education, and Science and Research, the Aquarium organises events and initiatives that encourage people to reflect on environmental issues. The main lines of intervention for protecting aquatic environments are: 1. Awareness and education for users of the sea; 2. Activity of applied scientific research and active protection; 3. Management of emergencies.
