Role in the ACCENT project: Development of procedure for Local Citizens’ Debates, data analysis Observa – Science in Society is a non-profit organization which promotes the study and discussion of the interaction between science and society, stimulating dialogue among researchers, policy makers and citizens. Observa plans, supervises and evaluates initiatives aimed at citizens’ involvement in science, technology and environment issues. It conducts research studies on the public perception and media representation of science, technology and environment related issues and institutions. Among the issues covered are public perception of biotechnologies, climate change perception and alternative energy, the evaluation of research activities, food safety and people’s perceptions of food related risks.
