What does the greenhouse effect have to do with coral reefs?

1.2.2010 > 31.12.2010 - Demonstration, workshop - Sweden

i do climate - What does the greenhouse effect have to do with coral reefs?

Visitors to the Universeum’s coral reef are given the opportunity to blow their exhaled air down into the water and see just how this acidifies the water.

We add cuttlefish bones and study the effect. What impact does the acidification of the ocean have on calcium-dependent species such as corals? Are corals affected in other ways by climate changes? What does it matter if corals disappear? Visitors will also be given a guided tour of the Universeum’s coral reef.
