Climate Minds - a science consensus conference

1.1.2010 > 21.4.2010 - Conference, debate - Denmark

Science con Sensus is the concept behind Climate Minds - a training program which actively involves students. The goal is to facilitate an informed debate amongst high school students - in this case about the current energy and climate problems.

Science consensus is a kind of role play, where university students play the role of an important experts, stakeholder or researcher in the field of energy and climate change and the high school students play citizents.

The students representing the experts visit the subsribed high schools as a debate panel and the citizens have the opportunity to ask questions, test their own theories and seek new knowledge in dislogue with the experts.

Finally, based on the debate and in depth studies of the current energy and climate situation, the high shool students must write a  recommendation that will be delivered to the Denmarks leading politicians at a final national conference for all participating high schools, which is held at Experimentarium om the 21st April. At the final conference the real experts participate in the debate panel and discuss the recommendations with the high school students.

to prepare the pupils for the debate Experimentarium has developed a webpage with basic knowledge about everything to do with climate and energy: www.climateminds.dk
