i do climate - Science Camps at Heureka: CO2 and the Ocean

Climate change is one of the key topics at Heureka´s science camps in 2010. Up to 900 children participate the science camps annually.

CO2 and the Ocean is a workshop about carbon cycle and specifically the role of the ocean in it. Kids get to study for example solubility of CO2 in different temperatures and the properties of carbonic acid.

And how well does CO2 stay in the ocean - especially when the oceans keep warming up? Warm water cannot hold CO2 as well as cold does, as we learn by making the classic Coke and Mentos experiment at the end the workshop :)
