On top of Finlands highest mountain, Halti (1324m).

Arctic centre's science centre will move out into the mountain regions of Lapland. We will build the science centre in a snow cave and communicate issues related to climate change to all bypassers, either travelling by skiis, snowmobile or reindeer.

Arctic centre's science centre goes to the tundra. Instead of waiting for visitors to visit the Arctic centre, we take the science centre to the people. During 3 days, we go into the mountain region of northern Lapland and establish a science centre i a snow cave. The idea is to distribute climate change information and to discuss climate change related issues away from the normal setting of a science centre. What better place than to build a science centre into a snow cave along the route to Finland's highest mountain, Halti. We will have climate change quizzes, snow sculting and different forms of experiments such as albedo experiments during the event. We will also do interviews with the visitors and have a video shoutbox for the visitors to tell their own view on climate change. All visitors in our Science Centre Snow Cave will get free entrance to our Science Centre in Rovaniemi to get more familiar with the topic of climate change and the Arctic.
