Cafe Scientifique "What is the carbon dioxide (CO2) and why we talk so much about it?"23.9.2010 - Conference, debate - Estonia | ||
![]() Science Center AHHAA will finish the series of Cafe Scientifiques with most important subject - greenhouse gases. We would like to find the answers to the questions: what is the carbon dioxide (CO2) and why we talk so much about it? how much do we emit? how can we limit our CO2? does larger amount CO2 really cause the Global Warming? Those and many other questions are still without the answer. Maybe there will be some scientist who already knows the answer, but hasn't spoken yet?

In Northern Estonia (close to Tallinn) the forests and severly damaged due to the acid rain, so there is not very much animal life there. Scientists have also shown that because of all the pollution, children's health as been effected and more children are becoming sick. The soil, ground water, lakes and river are also harmed by all of the pollution too.
Although the climate changes naturally on its own, humans contribute heavily to pollution of the environment. More and more people are wondering how they can do their part to help reduce the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. While change won't happen overnight, here are steps that you can take against global warming. And even it is not proved yet we need to keep out planet clean to secure our new generation life anyway.
The Cafe Scientifique will be held on September 23th in Dorpat Conference Center (Soola 6, Tartu 51014)
